This Surprising Contender Could Potentially Replace Aric Almirola in Tony Stewart’s Team

Tony Stewart’s team, Stewart-Haas Racing is currently going through a transition, as Kevin Harvick has already announced that this will be his final year.
On the other hand, Aric Almirola will also probably retire after the 2023 season. They already found a replacement for Harvick; now, a surprising name emerges as a potential replacement for Almirola.
Who is Kevin Harvick’s replacement?
Earlier, Tony Stewart arranged a press conference and announced that Josh Berry would replace Harvick in the #4 car. Notably, Berry has been driving full-time in the Xfinity Series for JR Motorsports. He also has experience in the Cup Series, as he earlier drove for HMS, replacing Chase Elliott. Despite the issue with the sponsor, Stewart has plenty of faith in Berry.
Who could replace Almirola in SHR?
As per NASCAR journalist Adam Stern, Craftsman Truck Series driver Zane Smith could become a potential replacement for Almirola in SHR. He said, “Obviously, Zane Smith has been a name that has been touted as a possibility to get to (Stewart-Haas Racing)...I think clearly that’s one name to keep an eye on if (Aric Almirola) was to go away, but there’s probably some others as well.”
Many fans were surprised by this choice because Smith is very young and does not have the experience of Corey LaJoie or Cole Custer. However, he is the current Truck Series champion and has gained some valuable experience in the Cup Series as well. Earlier, Stewart talked about giving opportunities to good talents. Hence, it won’t be surprising if Smith gets a seat in 2024 in the #10 car.
