Bubba Wallace is one of the most talented drivers right now. Currently racing for Michael Jordan and Denny Hamlin’s team, 23XI Racing, Wallace received a lot of criticism for not fulfilling his potential. 

However, he proved his haters wrong many times. We will take a look at 4-times he proved his haters wrong. 

Wallace’s First pole 


Bubba Wallace made his Xfinity Series debut in 2012. In the same year, at the age of 18, he won his first career Nationwide Series pole at Dover International Speedway. 

First African-American to win since 1963

In 2013, Wallace made his debut in the Camping World Truck Series for Kyle Busch Motorsports. Then, he went on to win the Kroger 200 at Martinsville Speedway and became the first African-American driver to win NASCAR’s national series since Wendell Scott did it in 1963.

Greatest rookie performance in NASCAR history 

In the 2018 Daytona 500, Wallace finished 2nd behind Austin Dillon, which is the highest finish by a full-time rookie driver in NASCAR history. Moreover, he went wheel to wheel with the legendary Denny Hamlin to the finish line and beat him by 0.002 seconds to clinch second place.

Proving his doubters wrong in Kansas, 2022


Many tried to discredit Wallace’s first Cup Series win in Talladega in 2021 because it was shortened due to rain. However, he proved his doubters wrong in 2022, as he got his 2nd Cup Series victory at Kansas after leading the final 67 laps.
