Tony Stewart's Hilarious Revelation about NASCAR Legend Michael Waltrip
NASCAR
In a recent interaction, Tony Stewart, the Hall of Famer and owner of Stewart-Haas Racing, shared an amusing anecdote about his racing days. The story involves none other than a two-time Daytona 500 winner.
The Infamous Driver Meetings
Stewart reminisced about the driver meetings from two decades ago. He humorously revealed that these meetings were universally considered tedious, regardless of the era. However, one particular aspect stood out - Michael Waltrip's participation. Stewart quoted, "Michael always, in every driver’s meeting... was going to extend the driver’s meeting five more minutes with something corny that had nothing to do with what we were doing."
Waltrip's Notorious Reputation
Waltrip had a reputation for asking irrelevant questions that would unnecessarily prolong these meetings. This trait was not well-received by his fellow drivers, including Tony as the mere sight of Waltrip raising his hand elicited collective sighs of annoyance.
Stewart further elaborated on the varying nature of these meetings. He said, "I guess it was different every time... just dependent on what the scenario was that weekend." Despite Waltrip's antics, Stewart chose to attend several more meetings when they raced together in Tony Stewart’s Superstar Racing Experience.
