Joe Judge Returns to New England Patriots After Two Horrible Seasons at New York Giants

Joe Judge is about to return to New England. Judge — who was just fired after two brutal seasons as the Giants’ head coach — is expected to rejoin the Patriots. Let's have a look at the whole story.

About Joe Judge

The judge was an assistant under Bill Belichick from 2012-19 before he became the Giants’ head coach. Though Judge worked mostly with special teams — including five seasons as Belichick’s special team's coordinator — he doubled as wide receivers coach in 2019.

Joe Judge will work for free in New England

Judge will essentially be working for free in New England because he has three years left on the buyout for his Giants’ contract. Whatever Judge makes in New England (or eventually maybe elsewhere) will be deducted from what the Giants owe him in 2022 (or beyond).

By whom did Judge get replaced

Joe Judge became the third straight head coach the Giants fired after just two seasons. The Giants replaced him with Bills offensive coordinator Brian Daboll, another Belichick disciple.

Judge will be heading back to Foxborough

Now, instead of a Patriots reunion with McDaniels and Graham (who also worked in New England) out in Las Vegas, Judge will be heading back to Foxborough to work with Belichick.
