Justin Herbert, Dak Prescott and More; The Best Rookie QB Seasons in NFL History

We don't often see rookie quarterbacks set the NFL on fire from day 1. However, some superstars etched their name on the sport from their first throw. Here are the 5 best rookie QB seasons in the history of the NFL. 

Justin Herbert 2020

He was the third QB who was taken in the 2020 class. And when he stepped onto the field he was way more than ready for the big leagues. Herbert had 31 touchdown passes and 36 total TDs in his first season. 

Dak Prescott 2016 

The Cowboys had Prescott on board in 2016, and with his initial game itself he took Dallas’ offense to new heights. Dak completed 67.8 percent of his passes for 3667 yards. 

Russell Wilson 2012 

He had the Seattle Seahawks on a totally higher level. Wilson helped the Seattle Seahawks to get a 11-5 record.  He completed 64.1 percent of his passes for 3118 yards. 

Cam Newton 2011

Only in his first ever game against the Arizona Cardinals, Newton completed 24 passes for 422 yards. He set rookie records for passing (4,051) and rushing yards (706) by a quarterback, winning NFL Offensive Rookie of the Year.

Ben Roethlisberger 2004

He was taken 11th overall by the Pittsburgh Steelers after which he took the Steelers to their best record of 15-1. He completed 66.4 percent of his pass attempts and had 17 touchdowns against 11 interceptions.
