Surprised and jubilant to find McGregor cycling on the same road, a fan captured the moment on his camera.


 While the fan said "MashaAllah" (God has willed it) and Asalamualaikum, McGregor replied ‘Asalamualaikum brother’ while racing ahead.

While the tensions ran high between McGregor and Nurmagomedov,a journalist greeted McGregor with ‘Asalamualaikum’ in a press conference and then congratulated him on his whiskey brand Proper 12. 


Clubbing the Muslim greetings and whiskey together drew a sharp reaction from Nurmagomedov who saw whiskey opposed to his Muslim beliefs. McGregor shot back and ended his answer to the journalist with ‘Asalamualaikum Alada’.
