Colby Covington recently appeared at the UFC 286 weigh-ins as the backup fighter for the main event between Leon Edwards and Kamaru Usman. While interacting with the media Covington took a jibe at ‘Borz‘ for missing weight in his last fight,
Covington spoke about Khamzat Chimaev at UFC 286 presser. He blasted Chimaev for missing weight at UFC 279 and accused him of acting unprofessional. Chimaev took notice of 'Chaos' and responded back through a video on his YouTube channel.
Chimaev called out Covington or backing out from a fight. He took to his YouTube channel and accused Covington of backing out from the bout multiple times. He said, “Colby is lying he doesn’t want to fight. I swear with everything I have.” stated the third-ranked welterweight.
Chimaev went on to even disclose his conversations with UFC executive Sean Shelby. He said, “I get four times call we’re gonna fight, I say yes. I have conversation with Sean Shelby… so we’re gonna fight with this guy but it’s never happened."
Chimaev further expressed, "For me, weight class doesn’t matter if somebody wants to fight. If UFC calls me fight Brock Lesnar I [will] fight with him.”
