Khabib Nurmagadov's Dagestan

Khabib Nurmagadov was born in the Sildi village of Dagestan near the border of Chechnya.

Its stunning landscapes, rivers, and streams greet visitors with enchanting beauty.

Nurmagomedov's village saw increased migration in 1990's for better economic opportunity. Today just 220 people live in the 500 year old village.

Undeveloped and without access to internet, hospital and school, the village found its place on the map of global attention after the rise of its greatest son-- Khabib Nurmagomedov.

After the rise of Nurmagomedov, the village became a hotspot for the fans. 'Welcome to the Eagle Land' is a billboard that greets the visitors.

Where does Khabib Nurmagomedov live today?

It is unclear where 'The Eagle' spend most of his $40M of earnings. He has a modest house in Dagestan

An old video shared by Nurmagomedov gave a glimpse of the Dagestani culture.

And it captured the breathtaking view outside, too.

Also, he has a house in San Jose California where he trains at the American Kickboxing Academy.

In Dagestan's capital, Makhachkala, he had an apartment in the same building where his father Abdulmanap Nurmagomed lived. There he often sees neighbourhood children rushing to him for autographs once he leaves home and the walls painted by his name.
