A dog grabbed the attention of a hiker

Kelsey Colpitts, an avid enthusiast, spared some time soaking the calmness of the Lani Po trail, where suddenly she was interrupted by a loud and sharp dog barking. Far away from her position, she spotted a dog barking for an unknown reason.

The hiker sought assistance

Sensing the life risk of the dog, Colpitts immediately dialed 911, seeking the authorities' attention as she couldn’t reach the dog, which was around 2.5 miles away. Soon after, the authority reached using Colpitts' geolocation to rescue the dog. Right then, the authority noticed something unusual far beneath the trail.

The shocking reason behind the dog’s bark

Noticing an object below the rescue authority re-visited the spot to discover a 35-year-old hiker, completely covered with snow, 100 feet below the trail. Needless to say, the lady hiker was immediately rescued and sent to the hospital for further treatment.
