Acknowledging the success of her venture capital firm, the tennis legend recently opened up about how her firm has made a difference in society.

Williams set up her own venture capital firm, Serena Ventures, in 2014. Thanks to her massive aura, the firm has seen massive growth, and today stands as a proud investor in various organizations. However, despite being a business, Serena refuses to run it merely for profits.

Taking some time off from her hectic training schedule, Williams recently indulged in a candid conversation with The People. During the conversation, she pointed out a unique distinction between Serena Ventures and other firms.
What did Williams say?
“We invest in women, we invest in women of color, we invest in people of color,” she said.
Going ahead in the conversation, she detailed the concept of ‘diversity’ in other venture capital firms.
“A lot of these companies talk about diversity, but they just talk about it. It’s because it’s a good subject that they bring up, but they don’t really do a lot of things about it,” she said. “At Serena Ventures we do, we talk about it. We be about it,” she further added.
