‘Go to McDonald’s and Have a Hamburger’ – 42-Year-Old Venus Williams Once Brushed Off Her ‘Perfectionist’ Persona With a Cheeky Statement

Losses are not easy for anyone. Not even for tennis legends like Venus Williams, who changed the face of the sport. Her arrival on the scene with her sister, Serena Williams, not only revolutionized the sport but also gave it a vision of how things can be. Although losses are part of success, they can be difficult to handle. The same is the case with Venus Williams, who once detailed her coping mechanism when she suffers a loss in the court.

Venus Williams once opened up about her coping mechanism after a loss.

In an interview in 2008, Venus talked about how suffering a loss was always difficult. When asked about her view on losses, she said, “Oh, I hate losses.”

She had more to add.

Williams further went on to talk about the ones that are the most difficult. She said, “Oh my gosh, some of them are hard like Grand Slam losses are hard.” However, she also knew that she had to take it easy on herself, so she treated herself.

What did Venus do after a loss?

She said, “I treat myself after losses though, I usually go to McDonald’s and I have a hamburger…Because you just need to be nice to yourself sometimes after the loss.”

Is Venus making a comeback?

Venus made it clear that we would be seeing her on the court for some more time now. Despite being the elder sister, Venus is in no rush to retire from the sport. The ASB chairman recently talked about Venus Williams approaching them to recieve a wildcard entry to the tournament.
