‘Made My Heart Stop’ – 42-Year-Old Venus Williams’ Gratifying Remark Revealed by Australian Open Chef

The popular celebrity chef, Helen Goh has always been the favorite of many tennis players during the Grand Slam event in Melbourne. Some of the biggest names from the tennis realm including the American tennis icon, Venus Williams have been huge fans of her delicacies. Talking about her dishes, Goh recently opened up about how she once made a huge impression on Venus Williams. She revealed that it was one of her dishes that did trick as it made Williams’ “heart stop”. Goh has been in the business of players’ on-site eatery for a long time. She has created the menu for a number of tennis superstars since the late 1990s.

Goh's on-site eatery since 1990 has been serving a number of top players during the Australian Open. Talking about the same, Helen Goh recalled some of the go-to meals for some of the most popular tennis figures including Venus Williams.


She said that the Williams sisters stand out in her memory as regulars in the on-site eatery.

They were huge fans of her French fries whenever they came into the lounge during the Grand Slam event in Melbourne. 


Later on, Goh reminisced about one of her dishes that made a huge impression on the 7-time singles Grand Slam champion.

She said, ‘I remember Venus Williams’s remark: “Your curry made my heart stop.”


Goh does not know if Venus' remark was negative or positive.

The Australian Open chef added that she doesn’t know if that remark was a good thing. Goh said she was confused because Williams got knocked out of the tournament out later that day and never returned to her lounge.
