‘People Are Afraid When You Can Do Something’- Serena Williams Says Confident People Will Always Have Enemies


Serena Williams, is known for her fighting spirit and self-confidence on the tennis court. She has dominated her opponents with her ferocious way of playing the sport. Additionally, Williams has also inspired many athletes to fight against all odds by overcoming challenges during their journey. She recently got featured in a podcast with some of her fans. Meanwhile, Williams discussed people’s levels of confidence. She went on to say that confident people would always have adversaries.

The American tennis icon loves to converse with her fans as she recently did just that on a podcast. She was asked about why people are sometimes bothered about self-belief and confidence.


What did Williams say?

Williams answered by stating, “People are afraid when you can do something and they’ll tell you that you can’t and they take confidence for something else. And when someone tells you that you can’t do something that’s really them saying that you can’t do it, they can’t do it."

Serena had more to add.

She further added, “If you want to have confidence and that’s okay to have confidence, you know, it’s it’s better to have confidence and you know, if people don’t like it, then not everyone’s gonna like yeah.”


 Williams exuded self-belief and confidence throughout her illustrious career. 

Williams showed her confidence when she launched her own entrepreneurial project, which turned out to be a great success. Williams also stated, “But that’s just how you have to be just like be confident Don’t let anyone tell you steal your shine or tell you not to shine.”

Williams previously designed an adorable doll named ‘Qai Qai’ for her daughter. The doll became very popular among the other children as well. Later on, Williams also launched a book named ‘The Adventures of Qai Qai’, based off of the popular doll.
