Serena Williams’ Dog Named After Rafael Nadal Boosts Her Morale After a Grueling Training Session

Serena Williams is all geared up for her onslaught at the US Open. After her unfruitful run at her favorite Grand Slam event, the Wimbledon Championships, the legendary player began her practice for the hard-court season in Washington. Serena will begin her hard-court campaign at the National Bank Open in Montreal. In her latest Instagram post, the 23-time Grand Slam champion shared some pictures from her time training on the courts of Washington. And there was one adorable supporter cheering Serena during her training sessions.

The 40-year-old took to her Instagram to share two pictures of her post-practice session at the Citi Open. The player cooled down by lying on a Gatorade ice trunk after an exhausting practice session. 

What did she write in the post?

She captioned the picture, “Thank you practice court 3, where it all went down this week. I had to cool down in the @gatorade ice chest.” In the second picture, her Yorkshire Terrier, named Chip, was beside her.

The biggest support for the legendary American comes from her close-knit family, with her husband Alexis Ohanian, daughter Olympia, and their three adorable dogs.

When will Serena get back in action?

The former world no.1 will be back in action at the National Bank Open in Toronto. Apart from that, she will participate in the Cincinnati Masters which she has won twice in her career before.
