Williams shared her story during Black Maternal Health Week, and despite the difficulties she faced during childbirth, she did not let it become a sad saga. Mothers worldwide stood in solidarity with her and shared similar experiences.

During Black Maternal Health Week, Williams delivered an empowering message.
She stated, “I shared my birth story, and I was stunned by the outpouring of support and similar experiences women have had.”
Williams posted a picture on Instagram with Olympia and husband Alexis Ohanian.
Williams highlighted the alarming number of black women who have lost their lives while giving birth.
“According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, Black women in the United States are over three times more likely to die from pregnancy or childbirth-related causes.”
She brought attention to the troubling issue as she wrote,
As a global icon, Williams spoke on behalf of women worldwide.
“But this is not just a challenge in the United States. Around the world, thousands of women struggle to give birth in the poorest countries. Every mother, everywhere, regardless of race or background deserves to have a healthy pregnancy and birth.”
She stated,
