On December 2016, Alexis proposed to Serena where they had first met. A month later, they discovered that Serena was expecting their first child. Later in 2017, Serena gave birth to her daughter, Olympia, following which Serena and Alexis tied the knot. The former World Number 1 once revealed an interesting incident with her husband.

During an episode of the GMA: Strahan & Sara show, Serena opened up about a sassy reply she once received from her husband.
What did Serena say?
She said, “I asked him, I was like hey do you want me to give you some pointers and he’s like ‘no’. And I was like ‘okay’. And I was like if you don’t ever ask me for a lesson, you know so that way so he said no when I asked him…I was just like well who do you think you are?”

After Serena announced her retirement from tennis, her husband took to social media to pen down an emotional note. Alexis said, “I’ve seen over the last 7 years how much y’all love my wife—what she means to so many, worldwide.”
Alexis had more to add.
Further, he went on to add, “It’s unlike anything I’ve ever seen. Plenty of folks have told me ‘how Reddit changed their life,’ but the scale & impact of ‘how Serena changed my life’ stories absolutely dwarfs it.”
