The LA Clippers have had a good start to the season. After a forgetful campaign last season, Paul George is trying his best to shut his critics. He was on a mission against the Suns tonight but was also involved in an ugly fight with Devin Booker.

It started with Booker crossing up PG. The Suns were down by 30 at one point, and Booker was doing his best to keep them in the game. With 10 mins left on the clock, Booker crossed George before draining a step-back three. He cut the deficit to just two with that and had George on the wrong end of the highlight.

Minutes later, George was fouled by Cameron Payne. The Clippers star was annoyed with the foul and started arguing. Post that, Booker stepped in and called George “soft” before teammates and referees stopped the two from getting into a fight.

Paul George stays cool and brings home the win

The Clippers had amassed a 31 point lead, but their lack of concentration almost helped the Suns get back in the game. Kawhi Leonard had a terrible game and shot 4-21 from the field tonight.

7/15 of his points came from the free-throw line. With Leonard struggling, George stepping up was crucial for the Clippers.

He ended the game with a massive 39 points and was very efficient too. He shot 15-24 from the field and a terrific 7-10 from three. PG has been unstoppable so far, and the Suns couldn’t do anything to keep him in control.

In his first game against the Mavericks, George went 4-13 from the field. He followed it up with two impressive games back to back, and both resulted in wins. When he had a bad game against the Jazz, they lost again. So his performances have been dictating wins for the Clippers so far, and tonight was another example.

The team needs him to stay consistent, right from the regular season to the postseason. Lack of consistency is why the Clippers crashed out of the playoffs last season. So they will be hoping both George and Leonard can perform when it matters and lead them to postseason success.
