Eugenie Bouchard was born as one of the twins to Michel Bouchard and Julie Leclair in Montreal on February 25, 1994. She started playing tennis at the age of five and turned professional in 2009.
Her best result came when she reached the final of Wimbledon 2014. She lost out to Petra Kvitova in the finals.
Eugenie Bouchard in her prime was a decent player. She rose to prominence, particularly during the 2014 season, and was ranked World Number five in October.
As mentioned before, she reached the final of Wimbledon 2014.
She also got as far as the semifinals at the Australian Open and French Open, and the 4th round at the US Open 2015.
At the New York major in 2015, she was forced to withdraw due to a concussion. She slipped and fell in the locker-room, and suffered an injury that led to her withdrawal from the event.
At the Australian Open 2017, she reached the third-round and since then she hasn’t been beyond the second round at a Major tournament.
She also has a total of one WTA title, that she won in Nuremberg, Germany, and 6 ITF titles.
However, since then, her form has been on the decline and she has struggled to get it back.
The 2020 season saw Bouchard show glimpses of her old form. She reached the quarter-final at the ASB Classic in Auckland. Later in the year, she also made the quarter-final at the Prague Open.
Bouchard then made her first WTA final in four years, at the Istanbul Open, ending her season on a high.
She failed to qualify for the Australian Open at the start of the 2021 season, losing in the final qualifying match.
Currently, her coach is a former six-time Grand Slam doubles champion, Rennae Stubbs.
Currently, her estimated net worth is $6 million.
During the 2014 season, the Canadian had a multitude of sponsors chasing after her. But once it was clear that she was just a one-season wonder, the majority of them began to jump ship. Even her agent, John Tobias, left her in March 2018.
Her biggest sponsors, Coca-Cola, Aviva, and Usana, chose to not renew their contracts with her. In 2018, she signed a new racquet sponsor in Yonex.
One of the few that stuck by her was Nike. However, it now appears that she has changed apparel partners, as she sported a New Balance costume during the Australian Open 2021 qualifiers.
Bouchard’s house is located in Las Vegas, Nevada, as well as the Bahamas. The Canadian also spends a lot of time in Miami, Florida, for her training sessions.
With regard to charity work, Bouchard has worked with four main charities. They are the Aviva Community Fund, Cancer for College, Cancer Research Society, and the USANA True Health Foundation.
