Call of Duty Black Ops Cold War is the next iteration in the Call of Duty franchise. The game, jointly developed by Treyarch Studios and Raven Software, takes place during the 80s when the Cold War was at its peak.

In addition to bringing back the elements of the Black Ops franchise, popular characters from the franchise also make their return. Alex Mason, Jason Hudson, and Frank Woods come together to stop the impending threat.

Teaming up with CIA operative Russel Adler, who is appointed by President Ronald Reagan, the team uncovers secrets in a bid to stop Soviet agent Perseus, who is at large once again. Together, they must find a way to put an end to his/her schemes in order to prevent a possible global war.

Black Ops Cold War is the seventeenth installment in the series and the sixth in the Black Ops Series.

Call of Duty Black Ops Cold War and Warzone

Call of Duty Warzone was integrated with Black Ops Cold War in December 2020. According to the latest reports, the game will run on the same engine. In addition to this, the Black Ops Cold War weapons will have the same time to kill (TTK) as Modern Warfare weapons. This will help keep the game balanced and will also deliver a smooth experience when playing the BOCW version in Warzone.

Call of Duty Black Ops Cold War on Playstation 5 and Xbox Series X

Black Ops Cold War is also optimized for consoles in terms of visuals and gameplay settings. For example, players will now have a FOV slider for consoles as well, which is a feature that was absent in consoles for Modern Warfare.

In addition to this, the game will also run at 4K 120FPS on the PS5 and Series X, delivering a great visual experience. Additionally, the game will also have crossplay enabled to play with friends across different platforms.

Black Ops Cold War Zombies

The famous Zombies mode also makes its return to the franchise. The story will see the return of Samantha Maxis, a character from the previous Zombies storyline. Although, this Zombies mode will follow a completely different storyline and will be set in a different universe.
