Christopher Bell

There are different types of racers today in NASCAR but the silent assassin kind is hard to come by. However, Christopher Bell is someone who fits the bill. He is not flamboyant, nor is he controversial. He simply keeps mostly to himself, or at least that's the public perception of him, but when the time comes to perform, there are few in the NASCAR Cup Series that are as good as the driver of the #20 Joe Gibbs Racing car.

Who is Christopher Bell?

Christopher Bell is a driver in the NASCAR Cup Series who races for Joe Gibbs Racing, Despite his babyface-like appearance, he is a veteran of the sport and is one of the best drivers in the competition today. His looks can be quite deceiving as he does not always come across as someone fiercely competitive but those who have raced with or against him know exactly just how good he is.

Bell has been unlucky though, as good a driver as he is. He has made it to the championship race in the Cup Series on a lot of occasions but something or the other has always ruined his chances of winning the big prize. Will 2024 be more of the same or will the 29-year-old finally have his moment in the sun?

Christopher Bell’s early life

The Joe Gibbs Racing star hails from the city of Norman in Oklahoma. Unlike a lot of his contemporaries, Christopher Bell is not part of a racing family. He is one of 3 children born to David and Kathy Bell. He has two sisters - Kathyrn Bell Burton and Shannon Bell Lack. Information about the Cup Series racer's education has not been made available online but a report from The Oklahoman suggests that his father, David, was a coach at the Community Christian School in Norman when Christopher was a child.

Christopher Bell’s wife and children

The driver of the #20 tied the knot in 2020 with Morgan Kemenah. The timing of the wedding was quite interesting as it took place in February of that year, only a few weeks before that season's Daytona 500. Bell finished P21 in The Great American Race that year for Leavine Family Racing. The couple got engaged in 2018 after dating for four-and-a-half years. They might have gotten married 4 years ago but are yet to have any children.

Christopher Bell net worth 2024

2024 will be the fourth year of Christopher Bell being a part of Joe Gibbs Racing. During this time, he has established himself as one of the best drivers in the NASCAR Cup Series and has even made the championship 4 on multiple occasions. It is no surprise that he has accumulated a significant amount of wealth in his career. According to several reports, the 29-year-old has a reported net worth of $5 million as of 2024. With more success in racing, this figure will certainly increase.

His biggest source of income is through his work as a race car driver and the sponsorships that come along with it. Apart from that, the JGR star is the owner of the sprint car team CB Industries which is in the USAC National Midget Series and other Micro Sprint events. Sponsorships play a big role in his income in that race team as well, as is the norm in motorsports.

Christopher Bell’s partnerships and endorsements

Being as talented a driver as he is, Christopher Bell has rarely had issues of late when it comes to attracting big sponsors. The fact that he is in a team as big as Joe Gibbs Racing certainly helps as well. One of his biggest sponsors has been DeWalt and they are back with the #20 team for the 2024 Cup Series season. As per a report in Frontstretch, the power tools company will be sponsoring the 29-year-old for 13 races this year. Last season, Bell's win in the Bristol dirt race came with the DeWalt logo on the hood.

Much like DeWalt, Rheem is also coming back to the #20 team in the 2024 Cup Series season to sponsor Christopher Bell. The new deal was announced in January of 2024 and like DeWalt, the water heater manufacturing company will be one of the main sponsors for the 29-year-old this season. As per a report in Jayski's Silly Season Site, Rheem will sponsor Bell for 14 races.

One of the biggest sponsorship deals that Toyota signed this season was the one with Mobil 1. The motor oil and lubricant company will be sponsoring drivers from each of the Toyota teams in the 2024 NASCAR Cup Series for a total of 9 races. These drivers include Christopher Bell, Tyler Reddick, Bubba Wallace, and John Hunter Nemechek. This deal is particularly interesting as the company is sponsoring across teams in Toyota and it will be intriguing to see how things work out between the parties involved.

Christopher Bell’s investments

It is not just driving that Christopher Bell is interested in when it comes to motorsports (although that probably takes precedence over everything else). He is a full-blown owner of a sprint car racing team, a team that he even raced for in a competition like the World of Outlaws.

CB Industries (founded by Bell and Chad Boat), or CBI Racing used to race in the World of Outlaws with Bell behind the wheel of the #21. He won his first race in the event with his team in 2019 but 2 years later, the #21 had to be shelved as the JGR star wanted to focus on his goals in the Cup Series. They might not compete at that level anymore but the team is still very much active. CBI Racing takes part in the USAC National Midget Series and other Micro Sprint events as well with Chad Boat seemingly heading operations.

Christopher Bell's NASCAR career stats

He might not have won a Cup Series championship yet in NASCAR but Christopher Bell has several race wins to his name that he can be quite proud of. In the NASCAR Cup Series, before the 2024 Daytona 500, Bell has taken part in 121 races and won 6. He has more than 60 top-10 finishes and 10 pole positions until the 2023 season.

In the Xfinity Series, the JGR star has 17 wins from 77 races, 49 top-10 finishes, and 12 pole positions. The Truck Series saw him win a championship and record 7 race wins, 42 top-10 finishes, and 6 pole positions. It is safe to say that wherever Christopher Bell has gone, he has performed quite well.

Christopher Bell’s records

His resume in the NASCAR Cup Series may not reflect the biggest race or championship wins but outside of that, Christopher Bell has a record any driver would be envious of. The former Truck Series champion is a 3-time winner of the Chili Bowl Nationals and he is only the third driver to do so. When he won the event for the first in 2017, he was the first Oklahoma native to achieve the feat since Andy Hillenburg in 1994.

In 2014, he turned a lot of heads in the sprint car racing community when he won a whopping 24 USAC Midget races. The JGR star also has victories at New Smyrna Speedway, South Alabama Speedway, and Southern National Motorsports Park as a Super Late Model racer.

Christopher Bell’s major achievements and awards

The aforementioned achievements are all quite impressive but Christopher Bell's greatest achievement so far in his career came in 2017 when he won the the NASCAR Truck Series championship. He was so good that year, racing for Kyle Busch Motorsports, that he even became the regular season champion. The then-KBM star won an incredible 5 races that season and finished P2 in the finale at Homestead-Miami to take the crown. The year before that, he narrowly missed out on the gold as he finished P3 in the championship. That form has often reared its head in the Cup Series but Bell is yet to convert it into a championship win.

Apart from that, Bell is a 3-time winner of the Turkey Night Grand Prix, the 2015 Eldora Mudsummer Classic Winner, and the 2013 USAC National Midget Series Champion. And of course, a 3-time Chili Bowl Nationals winner.
