ICC Cricket World Cup 2019: Afghanistan

The ICC Cricket World Cup 2019 is the 12th edition of the Cricket World Cup scheduled from May 30 to July 14 in England and Wales. This is the 5th time that the World Cup will be held in England and Wales.

Afghanistan made World Cup debut in 2015 Cricket World Cup. The team was grouped with the hosts Australia and New Zealand, Sri Lanka, England, Bangladesh, and Scotland. Afghanistan won only one match against Scotland and was knocked out of the world cup in the group stages. The side entered the ICC Cricket World Cup 2019 after winning the ICC Cricket World Cup 2019 Qualifiers.

Afghanistan is still an underdog team in the world cricket and it will be difficult for them to win matches in the ICC Cricket World Cup 2019. Afghanistan will win one or two matches if they play their best at the ICC Cricket World Cup 2019.

Afghanistan strength lies in their bowling attack with Rashid Khan leading their bowling line up. Rashid can dismiss the top batsmen in the world and his 10 overs will be crucial for Afghanistan.

However, their batting lineup is very weak and can collapse at any point of the match.

Cricket is the national sport of Afghanistan. Afghanistan bowler Hamid Hassan suggested that only cricket can make his country happy.

He said,  "Cricket is the only thing that will bring a smile. We love the country. We all support and play for the nation and we play for the Afghanistan people."

Afghanistan is scheduled to play against Pakistan and the hosts England. They'll face Pakistan on May 24 and England on May 27.
