ICC Cricket World Cup 2019: India Predictions

India has a strong top-order batting line-up with MS Dhoni and Hardik Pandya taking the responsibilities in the middle-order and a formidable bowling line up, which makes India, one of the most balanced sides. The ‘Men in Blue’ remain the top contenders to win the ICC Cricket World Cup 2019. Team India is one of the three teams who are the favourites to reach the finals of the tournament.

Strengths and Weaknesses

The top-order,  Rohit Sharma, Shikhar Dhawan and Virat Kohli are the pillars of the batting lineup for team India. While Jasprit Bumrah remains their key wicket-taking bowler for the ICC Cricket World Cup 2019.

India will certainly miss a left-handed batsman in the middle overs as the lefty-righty combination helps in rotating the strike in the middle overs. Also, the no. 4 position in their batting lineup is quite uncertain. There have been many changes in this position from the past two years but the position is still not fixed.

Team News Coming into the Tournament

The ‘Men in Blue’ had a sigh of relief as Kedar Jadhav was declared fit for the ICC Cricket World Cup 2019. The participation of the all-rounder was doubtful as he was suffering from a shoulder injury. Jadhav had hurt his shoulder during the last league match of the IPL 2019.

India’s Chief selector MSK Prasad said on Monday, “We have got the medical certificate declaring Jadhav is fit to play in the World Cup. He will travel to the UK with the rest of the squad on Wednesday.”
