Jos Buttler Biography
England cricketers, Jos Buttler made his debut back in 2011 in T20 cricket. A year later, he got his maiden ODI call up and in 2014, he made a break into the Test side.
Buttler has become heavily involved in franchise T20 cricket around the world. Many have even dubbed him as England’s “first ever global Twenty20 superstar”.
His maiden tryst with franchise cricket was in the 2013/14 Big Bash League with the Melbourne Renegades. Buttler was supposed to play the opening two matches but his stint was extended owing to Pakistani allrounder Mohammad Hafeez’ late arrival.
Jos Buttler’s ranking in T20 cricket is 24, while he is ranked 27 in Tests and 14 in ODIs.
Jos Buttler’s IPL career kicked off in 2016 with the Mumbai Indians. He remained with them for the 2017 IPL season as well.
Then, Jos Buttler’s IPL 2018 career was in a Rajasthan Royals jersey. However, he endured a difficult start for the Jaipur-based team. But, once he was slotted into the team as an opener, Jos Buttler’s batting improved by leaps and bounds. During his Rajasthan tenure, Jos Buttler’s record included, becoming the second batsman in IPL history to achieve five 50+ scored in a row.
His highest score in the IPL so far is an unbeaten 95 in 2018. Other Jos Buttler records include, a number of centuries in Test cricket and limited overs cricket. However, he has been just shy one one in county cricket and the IPL. Hopefully, IPL 2019 should see him get the monkey off his back.
