Sam Curran Biography
20-year old Sam Curran is a young rising talent hailing from England. He has plied his trade for the England cricket team, England Lions, Surrey, Surrey 2nd XI, Surrey Under-15s, Surrey Under-17s and Zimbabwe Under-13s.
Sam Curran is the younger brother of Tom Curran and son of the former Zimbabwe cricketer Kevin Curran. He made his Test debut for England in June 2018.
He picked up his maiden Man-of-the-Match award. He achieved this with four first-innings wickets and a half-century, giving England the edge against India.
After breaking into the Test and ODI teams, Curran’s next target will likely be a T20 debut. But for now, he will be aiming for the 2019 World Cup, a couple of weeks after IPL 2019.
Being only 20-years old, he has his whole career ahead of him and he will be a vital cog for Punjab and also for England.
The youngster is believed to be the youngest-ever player to take five wickets in a County Championship match.
Prior to his IPL debut for Kings XI Punjab, he played for Auckland Aces in the 2017–18 Burger King Super Smash tournament. His efforts helped guide the team into 3rd place.
This is Sam Curran’s debut season in IPL 2019. He was bought by Punjab for an astonishing 7.2 crores, making him the third most expensive player in IPL 2019.

He was even named as one of the ICC’s five breakout stars of 2018. He backed it up with his all-round performance during England’s series-winning efforts in Sri Lanka.
