Shakib al Hasan Biography
The 32-year old has been an asset for the Bangladesh team for a long time. In the bowling department, Shakib al Hasan possesses accuracy and consistency. Meanwhile, on the batting front, Shakib al Hasan has aggression and a variety of strokes in his arsenal.
He made his national debut in 2006 for the ODI and T20 team in 2006. A year later, he was drafted into the Test team for the very first time.
In 2009, he ascended to the role of Bangladesh skipper and till date, is the captain of the Test and T20 team.
However, Shakib al Hasan has had a history of disciplinary issues. The Bangladeshi has been embroiled in several altercations with opponents, umpires and even spectators.
Things came to a head in 2014 when he copped a six month ban owing to a “severe attitude problem”.
Shakib al Hasan began his tryst with the IPL in 2011. From that year to 2017, he was playing for the Kolkata Knight Riders. Then, in 2018 he joined the Sunrisers Hyderabad and now has stuck with them for another year.
Shakib al Hasan has not exactly contributed much with the willow, with his personal best being an unbeaten 66*. However, he can boast of two half centuries and a strike rate of 127.28 in his entire career.
With regard to bowling, in 61 matches he has racked up 58 wickets. His best figure was 3 wickets for 17, achieved back in 2012. 2018 was a successful season for Shakib as he amassed 17 wickets.
IPL 2019 Expectations
Now, in IPL 2019, he heads into his second season with the Sunrisers Hyderabad. His exploits with the ball will be a crucial weapon for the team in IPL 2019. Al Hasan’s presence also adds much-needed experience in the lineup.
