Yuzvendra Chahal Biography
Yuzvendra Chahal is a highly talented leg-spinner and one of the talents to make it onto the Indian team. He debuted in an away game against Madhya Pradesh.
Interestingly, cricket is not the only game he is good at. As it turns out, Chahal has also dabbled in chess and is listed on the official website.
Coming back to cricket, he has been impressive in the shortest format. It was enough to earn him an IPL contract with the Mumbai Indians in 2011.
However, he too suffered from the limited games syndrome. As a result, back he went to the auction pool in 2014. Yuzvendra Chahal was later picked by the Royal Challengers Bangalore. He would later form a vital cog in the RCB bowling set up.
Yuzvendra Chahal finally got a chance to feature in all matches in a season. RCB skipper Virat Kohli even turned to him on several occasions when in a tough spot.
Since then, Yuzvendra Chahal has grown into the leader of the RCB spin attack. Inspite of lacking elements like a deceptive googly, he compensates for it with a skiddy bowling action and accuracy.
Though he finished his first season as an RCB player with 12 wickets, Chahal was nominated for the Emerging Player of the Year. Sadly, he was narrowly beaten by Kings XI Punjab’s Axar Patel.
The following two season saw Chahal mature and snatch 44 wickets. In 2018, he surpassed Vinay Kumar to become RCB’s leading wicket-taker.
Ahead of the auction, Yuzvendra Chahal was not among the retained players in RCB’s overhaul. However, Chahal returned to the Bangalore side, courtesy a RTM (right to match) for INR 6 crore.
IPL 2019 Expectations
Yuzvendra Chahal is a talented player and has the best IPL figures of 4 wickets for 25 runs in 2016. RCB skipper Virat Kohli will sorely need him when the situation calls for it.
