Born on October 8, 1993, Garbine Muguruza is known to have started playing tennis at the age of three. She became a professional tennis player in 2012, with her first appearance in a WTA main draw coming with a wildcard entry to the Miami Open. In the same year, she qualified for her first Grand Slam main draw appearance at the US Open, where she lost to Sara Errani.

2014 was the year when she came into prominence. Beating Caroline Wozniacki in the Australian Open and humbling Serena Williams later in the French Open brought into the limelight. The next year, Muguruza reached her first Grand Slam finals at the Wimbledon Championships but lost to Serena Williams.

Her first Grand Slam title came in 2016 at the Roland Garros, and the next year, won the Wimbledon in her second attempt.

Regarding her personal life, Garbine Muguruza isn’t yet married.

In 2018, Tennis World had reported that Garbine was single. She has now known history of boyfriends, and she is still known to be single. According to liverampup, she was once rumoured to be a lesbian. The speculations were known to have increased when Muguruza started training with Conchita Martinez.  Garbine however, hasn’t made any statements regarding the rumours.

One occasion where she was seen making a comment to homosexual remarks was not her personal, but when former tennis player Margaret Court had made an anti-gay statement in 2017.

“I mean, tennis is full of lesbians, because even when I was playing there was only a couple there, but those couple that led took young ones into parties and things. And you know, what you get at the top is often what you’ll get right through that sport,” Margaret had said during an interview.

Muguruza was later asked about Margaret’s comments to which she said, “Quite honestly, I really don’t give a damn what she says.”
