“I am So Sorry For Any Harm” – Grigor Dimitrov Tests Positive For Coronavirus

Former World Number three Grigor Dimitrov was playing at Adria Tour in Croatia during this weekend, and on Sunday he was tested positive for coronavirus. The Bulgarian was in contact with Novak Djokovic, Alexander Zverev, and Dominic Thiem. Also, he shook hands with Borna Coric. On Sunday he flew back to Monaco (where he lives) and the test was conducted there.
“Hi Everyone-I want to reach out and let my fans and friends know that I tested positive back in Monaco for Covid-19. I want to make sure anyone who has been in contact with me during these past days gets tested and takes the necessary precautions. I am so sorry for any harm I might have caused. I am back home now and recovering. Thanks for your support and please stay safe and healthy,” Grigor Dimitrov posted on Instagram.
Earlier in Zadar, Croatia Dimitrov played against Borna Coric. He effortlessly won the match 4-1 4-1 and was drawn a face-off against World Number one Djokovic on Sunday.

But, Dimitrov became a last-minute withdrawal and stated: “This is a consequence of physical effort and exposure to the sun in the past few days, and I will have to miss the last day in Zadar.”
Following Dimitrov’s infection, Novak’s coach Goran Ivanisevic called off the final at Adria Tour in Zadar. Dimitrov is the first high profile tennis player to be tested positive, and earlier Brazilian star Thiago Seyboth Wild was tested positive for coronavirus in March.

Earlier Dimitrov also revealed his stance on season’s resumption. He stated with the present circumstances its difficult to comment on tennis bodies’ decisions. He’d be interested in seeing how things are evolving.
