The Croatian tennis player Borna Coric usually puts Roger Federer in a maze while playing against him. During Rome Masters 2019, Coric was on the brink of his victory against Federer, but the Swiss maestro heroically saved two match points and later sealed the battle.

Concerning Federer’s layover on tennis, Coric was asked: “Will Federer 2021 be a repeat of Federer 2017?” while speaking to UBI Tennis.

World Number four Federer announced sad news for his fans on Thursday. He called off is 2020 amid right knee surgery and will be back on the ATP Tour during the next season.

In 2016, he called off his season after suffering a loss at Wimbledon to Milos Raonic and underwent a procedure in his knee. And in 2017, he began the year with World Number 17 ranking. Later made the best comeback ever in tennis by clinching two Grand Slam titles. Also he concluded the year as World Number two tennis player.

After living each and every magical moment created by Roger, Coric believes the tennis world shouldn’t count him out. He still has the capabilities of doing wonders on the tour. When Federer’s US Open winning streak was snapped by Juan Martin del Potro in 2009, tennis experts began predicting his retirement from tennis.

However, the Swiss maestro defied all the laws of aging and continued to win Grand Slams in the third decade of his tennis career. “We have been saying he’s too old for 10 years. So until he says he stops playing tennis I will never count him out.”

Grass being his favorite surface, the Croatian aspires to win Wimbledon. And as Roger Federer is his idol and the ‘King of Grass’ he looks forward to beating the Swiss legend in the grass-court finals. “Wimbledon, beating Roger in the final. Maybe next year,” Coric said with an optimistic smile on his face.
