When Germany’s number one tennis player Alexander Zverev was spotted partying on Monaco’s beach, the tennis world was furious to see him violating the self-isolation rules. Concerning the same, Nick Kyrgios also blasted Sascha, but Dominic Thiem defended Zverev saying, “Kyrgios has built a lot of nonsense himself.”

The Aussie was not really pleased with the criticism from Thiem and took to Twitter to address his rage.

“None of you have the intellectual level to even understand where I’m coming from. I’m trying to hold them accountable. People losing lives, loved ones and friends, and then Thiem standing up for the ‘mistake’,” Nick tweeted.

After coming across the hit back from Kyrgios from social media, Thiem was asked about the same in Kitzbuhel, Austria. The three-time Grand Slam finalist gave a subtle answer.

“I don’t say anything more about that. It is his right, in a few weeks everything will be forgotten,” Thiem told Krone. While criticizing Dominic, simultaneously Nick referred to Novak Djokovic and Sascha as ‘potatoes’ as they were witnessed partying amid the fatal pandemic.

“Not repeating such a mistake – we all did not act with malicious intent. We came out of the lockdown into normality, saw the happy children and fans – and forgot the rules,” the Austrian said. (Quotes have been translated)
