“It’s Critical For Us to Stand United” – Roger Federer Agrees With Rafael Nadal Regarding Djokovic’s New-Union

The Cincinnati Open champion, Novak Djokovic, recently introduced a union alongside Canada’s Vasek Pospisil that would function solely to protect the interests of players.
Regarding the same, World Number two tennis player Rafael Nadal said: “We have a bigger problem and separation and disunion is definitely not the solution.” Following his tweet, his arch-rival Roger Federer came out in support of Rafa and shared his thoughts on the same.

However, three-time Grand Slam champion Andy Murray is not completely against the new union formed. And also the present association doesn’t include the WTA tennis players. “I won’t be signing it today,” he said.

Vasek and Novak initiated the setup of the union for men’s professional tennis players. That plans the formation of a Professional Tennis Players Association, (PTPA).

The main objective of the union is “to solicit support from players to form an association with a mandate to promote, protect and represent the interests of its players … and protect the future of tennis.”

On Saturday, World Number one Novak Djokovic clinched his second Cincinnati Open in New York. The Serb defeated Milos Raonic 1-6, 6-3, 6-4 to become the first player to lift all the Masters 1000 titles at least twice in his thriving career.
With this victory, he broke his own record of ATP Masters 1000 title and claimed his 35th Masters crown.
