Roger Federer will step on the court once again at the Australian Open 2021 after a year. There is skepticism about the player’s fitness as he recently underwent two knee surgeries. Some fans are even wondering whether he will be able to continue playing after the Grand Slam. However, the Swiss maestro has other plans and in a recent live-chat, he simply dismissed the retirement rumors.
“I am still fighting for my come back, I want to be back on the tennis court. I would love to play with the legends of the game and the best players. And I feel maybe there is a little more that is left in me,” said an enthusiastic Federer during the live-chat.
Federer is definitely a fighter. He still wants to compete at the age of 39 and believes that there is much more left in him. The Swiss legend surely has no plans to take retirement anytime soon. He just wants to enjoy the sport as long as possible.

“I’m definitely not stepping away off the game right now. But it’s fun to be an entrepreneur, philanthropist, tennis player, and all this stuff. But, No, I am not retiring anytime sooner,” concluded the 20-time Grand Slam champion.
