World Number one tennis player Novak Djokovic was tested positive for coronavirus after  Grigor Dimitrov, Viktor Troicki and Borna Coric confirmed having the infections. After the cancelation of the Adria Tour finals in Croatia, Djokovic flew back to Belgrade, Serbia and in the airport, his infection was tested and confirmed.

Also his wife Jelena Ristic has been tested positive, fortunately, their kids haven’t developed the infection. On Tuesday evening, Djokovic apologized for holding the tournament under the blanket of a pandemic. He feels guilty for the same.

Serbian legend Novak has realized the concept of the Adria Tour was a big mistake during the unprecedented times of virus widespread.

“Hi everyone – We’re back in Belgrade and I’ve tested positive for COVID-19 as well as Jelena. The kids have tested negative. We will remain in self-isolation for the next 14 days and repeat the test in 5 days,” Djokovic announced on Twitter.

Novak’s fitness has also been tested positive for COVID-19. He genuinely apologizes for the mishap as new norms of social distancing in his event. Also, other sanitary measures were not followed cautiously during the event of the Adria Tour. 

“I am so deeply sorry our tournament has caused harm. Everything the organizers and I did the past month, we did with a pure heart and sincere intentions,” he added.

“We believed the tournament met all health protocols and the health of our region seemed in good condition to finally unite people for philanthropic reasons. We were wrong and it was too soon. I can’t express enough how sorry I am for this and every case of infection.”

Adria Tour was yet to be held in Banja Luka and Sarajevo in June and July. But after the tennis players were tested positive the event has been called off. “The rest of the tournament has been canceled and we will remain focused on all those who have been affected. I pray for everyone’s full recovery,” he said.

Fittest tennis player on his planet Novak Djokovic hopefully recovers soon and doesn’t undergo any complications while recovering from the fatal disease. The ATP Tour will start in the middle of August. And Novak does have a substantial amount of time to regain his fitness for professional tennis.
