When Sofia Kenin and Coco Gauff turned up play on Sunday in the 2020 Australian Open, the combined age of the two players was less than the age of the oldest player in the competition.
But the maturity the duo showed during the match was a testament of the kind of talents they were. They showed impressive temperament when the first set went into a tie-breaker.
15-year old Gauff was coming into the match having already beaten the likes of Venus Williams and Naomi Osaka. However, she could not do enough to go past Kenin on Sunday.

Kenin, 21, came back impressively after losing the first set in a tiebreaker winning the match 6-7 (5), 6-3, 6-0.
After the win, Kenin said that she came a long way from not being recognized to being feared.
“I know that people always fear me, which is good. I have established myself, I have worked hard to get to where I am, I remember the position where people didn’t really fear me. They didn’t know me or anything. So I had to establish myself,” she said.
“I think it’s good they know I am a tough competitor. I am going to fight there, it gives me a lot of confidence I am doing something right, and I am just going to keep it going.”
