World Number seven Serena Williams had a successful run at the Australian Open 2021 and made it to the semi-finals. Post that, she didn’t play any tournament on the WTA Tour and opted to train and relax in her Florida residence.

The Miami Open 2021 saw a series of withdrawals, and Williams has now become the latest player to add to the list and withdraw from the event.

Recently, she underwent a surgery that has been painful to deal with, and hence, she has decided to pull out from one of her favorite tournaments on the WTA Tour, the Miami Open.
