American star Venus Williams has had an incredible career. She was ranked as the World No.1 for 21 weeks and has won 49 titles, including 7 Grand Slams. Considering that she has won so much, many might wonder – which was her favorite win? Well, the answer is probably the 2005 Wimbledon final.

In the final, Venus faced Lindsay Davenport in one of the greatest matches ever. It lasted 2 hours and 45 minutes, making it the longest women’s final at Wimbledon. In the end, it was Williams who came out on top 4-6, 7-6, 9-7.

It should now be clear as to why Venus loves this win but apparently, she’s not the only one. Recently, she revealed that her father also loves it as she said, “He calls me every time it’s on.”

The 2005 win at Wimbledon was a great one for Venus and it will remind her of a time where she was winning Grand Slams. This is something she hasn’t been able to do since 2008 and she is surely not happy about that.

The 2020 tennis season has now come to an end which means that Venus can only win another Major in 2021. That is probably going to be her last opportunity to win one as she is going to be 41 years old. In later years, it will become very difficult for her to compete and Venus knows that.
