The Danish tennis player Caroline Wozniacki is ready to play the last tournament of her career. She will be hanging her tennis racquets right after she exits from next week’s Australian Open 2020.

Former World Number one Wozniacki is retiring from professional tennis this year, but another former World Number one Kim Clijsters will be making her return this year. The Belgian, Clijsters last played at US Open 2012 and this year she will make her comeback at Monterrey Open in Mexico.

The Dane champion Caroline Wozniacki is skeptical about Clijsters’ performance on the WTA Tour. She feels tennis has evolved tremendously over the span of eight years. “It’s tough. I personally don’t think she can be successful again. She can prove me wrong. I think tennis has changed in 7 years,” said Wozniacki.

As per Wozniacki’s perspective, the women are employing a wide variety of shots in the game followed by some powerful hitting. They have some fine sense of selecting their shots and reading their games is becoming an arduous task for the tennis experts. Players like Simona Halep hit simple winners from the baseline and land up disrupting the rhythm of their opponents.

“So far I’ve just approached it like any other tournament,” Wozniacki said. “But obviously it’s different since it’s my last one. I’m just enjoying being out there. I’ve done everything I could to prepare as well as I can for this tournament, then hope for the best. I’m sure once the last ball is hit, it’s going to be a bit emotional.”
