World Number two tennis player Simona Halep made an ideal start of the 2020 season by reaching the semi-finals of Australian Open, where she lost a close match against Garbine Muguruza. Later in February, Halep lifted the title in Dubai.
With the tennis tour being unexpectedly suspended until July 13, 2020, the Romanian ace Halep is not at all disappointed with the decision. The coronavirus pandemic concerns every individual on the planet, and she said, right now being safe is more important than tennis.
“Well, it’s a problem for the world. It’s safer that everything got canceled. It’s not a small problem, it is a huge problem, we have to just listen to what they say. So stay home and be safe. Tennis is not everything in my life,” Halep stated at the ‘lockdown’ edition of the Tennis Legends vodcast.

Last year, Halep made deep-runs into the tournaments in Miami, Madrid, French Open and then she was champion in Wimbledon. In a nutshell, she had flourishing results at European clay-court tour and grass-court season. And now with the tour being suspended, the two-time Grand Slam champion Halep is at a loss.
