After playing some shabby game on her serve, the Belarusian Azarenka made a gutsy hold at 5-3.

Azarenka had the opportunity to avenge her service game loss at 5*-3(30-40) but some brilliant tennis from Venus, wiped out the break point and she went on the seal the set 6-3.

Set Two: Easy win for Venus!

Once again, Azarenka’s mistakes in the match prevailed and Venus held the first break of serve at 1-0. Venus continued to be solid on her serves, almost aced at the rate of 180 km/h, and led by 2-0 in the second set. The American ace continued to be flawless with her returns, forehand drive volleys, and with Azareka’s wide forehand Williams led by 3-0.

Thereafter it was one-way traffic and the match was pretty much one-sided as Venus then led by 4-0. Victoria could hold two service games but they weren’t enough to turn around the match.

With this win, Venus will be playing her sister Serena in the next round.
