The ramifications of the coronavirus pandemic continue in tennis. It was officially announced today that the 2020 French Open is rescheduled. Unthinkable as it is, it will now take place between September 20 to October 4. That means it will be played just a week after the US Open. Many players were quick to react to the shocking news.

The news of the organizers rescheduling the French Open 2020 has hit the tennis community like a ton of bricks. We found out the news via the Roland Garros twitter handle. As it turns out, we were not alone; many players found out the same way.

As with the Miami Open, Diego was once again left fuming after being left in the dark.

While some were having a few laughs, however, most players’ patience seems to be running out. The communication between the event organizers and the players is attracting quite the scrutiny in the past few weeks.

As you can see, there is a bit of a storm cooking up on social media following the news. The tennis community is reeling off this bizarre turn of events.

If things go to plan, the French Open 2020 will take place just 7 days after the US Open. It will be quite a task for the players to shift from the hard-courts of US Open to the clay of French Open in just seven days.
