On average, professional tennis players spend almost one-fifth of their lifetime traveling to different cities around the globe. “Living out their suitcase” becomes their lifestyle.

By calculating the distance traveled by the top-notch ATP men in 2019, it has been deduced that Roger Federer has taken more than three trips around the planet earth. 

Tennis Players who traveled more than 100,000 km in 2019

Roger Federer

This year, World Number three, Federer has traveled a distance of 134,263 kilometers, equivalent to 3.3 circles of the globe. It includes his trip to Australia at the beginning of the year and the Latin American Tour which was held after the ATP Finals in London.

However, the Swiss maestro is not done with his season yet. After his vacation in Maldives, he will fly to China in the last week of December for an exhibition match.

The German lad, Alexander Zverev is on the second spot on the list. Having teamed up with Roger Federer for the South American exhibitions, Sascha traveled a distance of 117,630 kilometers. 

Stefanos Tsitspas

World Number seven, Stefanos Tsitspas has toured about 105,310 kilometers. It was a surreal season for the Greek lad. He kickstarted the year by dethroning the defending champion, Roger Federer in the pre-quarterfinals of Australian Open. 

Later he raised to a career-high ranking of World Number five and then concluded the season with the biggest title of his career at ATP Finals in London. 

Matteo Berrettini and Roberto Bautista Agut 

The Italian, Matteo Berrettini and Spaniard, Roberto Bautista Agut have also exceeded 100,000 kilometers. Berrettini and Bautista flew a distance of 104,934 and 104,432 kilometers respectively. In 2019, both of them broke into the top-ten ATP Rankings for the very first time in their careers.

Also, the two gentlemen reached their first-ever Grand Slam semi-finals this season. They also played Davis Cup Finals 2019 in Madrid and represented their respective nations.

Tennis Players who traveled more than 50,000 km in 2019

Gael Monfils

After Bautista Agut, the Frenchman, Gael Monfils takes the next spot in list and he has covered a distance of 98,441 kilometers.

Monfils won a title this year in Rotterdam, Netherlands. 

Daniil Medvedev

The youngest Grand Slam finalist since 2009, Daniil Medvedev covered a distance of 94,420 kilometers. He had an impressive run during the North American summer season and further stretched it into the Asian Swing.

He created a record of reaching six straight ATP finals from the end of July to mid-October but concluded the season with a four-match losing streak in Paris and London.

Novak Djokovic and Dominic Thiem

The most tournament-title winners, Novak Djokovic and Dominic Thiem have traveled 94,073 and 89,462 kilometers. Both of them have the highest number of titles on the ATP Tour this year and extending their title-count to five.

Also, Novak was a contestant at Davis Cup Finals 2019 and he played an exhibition match in Kazakhstan against Nadal. 

Rafael Nadal

World Number one, Rafael Nadal has traveled the least distance among all the men mentioned in the list. Rafa called off his entire Asian Swing due to his wrist injury sustained in the Laver Cup. After his US Open 2019 victory, he flew to Paris and then London. After his exit in London, he flew to Madrid for Davis Cup 2019.

Nadal covered a distance of 74,521 kilometers.
