In November 2019, the American teenage sensation Amanda Anisimova cracked a massive endorsement deal with the sports brand, Nike. They signed a long-term lucrative deal with her, worth US $100 million. It is similar to Maria Sharapova’s agreement with Nike. This week, Anisimova shared about her latest sponsorship deal with the American manufacturer of sports-themed beverage and food products, Gatorade.

“I’ve been waiting so long to share this with you guys…I am officially part of the American manufacturer of sports-themed beverage and food product family! I am so honored to be a Gatorade athlete and be included in such an iconic brand,” the 18-year-old Amanda Anisimova announced.

Last week, Anisimova fulfilled her childhood dream in Auckland. As she got to play a match against the American ace Serena Williams in the semifinals of ASB Classic 2020. She always wanted to play her before Williams retired.

“My biggest wish is to play her before she retires so this is honestly the happiest I’ve ever been. It’s been my life-long dream. The thought of playing Serena … is what made it so nervous. She’s my idol. She’s everyone’s role model and I’ve had some personal moments with her. To get some experience playing a match against her is something I’ve been wishing my entire life,” the teenage tennis phenom said. Anisimova lost 6-1, 6-1 to Williams in the semifinals of Auckland.

Phenomenal 2019 season for Anisimova

The New Jersey-born tennis icon Anisimova had a flourishing 2019 tennis season. She pulled off her first-ever WTA title on the Colombian red dirt in Bogota. Before that title-victory, she did not have any match wins on clay at the WTA level.

Later, Anisimova could win a few matches in Rome, by keeping up with her momentum her level of tennis skyrocketed on the crushed bricks of Paris. The young American dethroned the reigning champion Simona Halep in the quarters and reached the first-ever semi-finals of a Grand Slam at French Open 2019. In the last-four round, she played a tough three-set match against the eventual champion Ashleigh Barty.

At Australian Open 2020, World Number 22 Amanda Anisimova will open against Zarina Diyas from Kazakhstan. 

A personal tragedy in 2019

The talented teenager Anisimova’s father and coach, Konstantin Anisimov lost his life. It was a sudden death that occurred in her family in August 2019.
