The Last Of Us Part 2 Leak Did Not Come From Internal Source

The Last Of Us Part 2 is gearing up to be one of the most realistic games of all time. Just a week ago a footage was released, which showed us how the gameplay looks like. While this was incredibly unethical and disastrous for Naughty Dog, as it revealed several things, including the ending of the game.
Sony recently cleaned the house by firstly removing the claims that the leak came from a dissatisfied Naughty Dog employee. Thanks to the interview conducted by Polygon, now we have some clarity about this situation. The Last Of Us Part 2, scheduled to release on June 19. Sony claimed that they could not reveal the exact details due to an on-going investigation.
The confirmation that this leak had nothing to do with Sony Interactive Entertainment or Naughty Dog does help. It was quite evident too, as no one would destroy their own creation this way.

“SIE has identified the primary individuals responsible for the unauthorized release of TLOU2 assets. They are not affiliated with Naughty Dog or SIE. We are unable to comment further because the information is subject to an on-going investigation. We’re looking forward to when The Last of Us Part II will be in your hands and can’t wait for you to enjoy the full experience on June 19.” This was the official statement issued by Sony.
The leak featured Ellie, and it also featured other characters that would reveal themselves in later phases of the game. It was obvious that it is a spoiler for the entire game. The leak highlighted some elements which maintained the illusion in the narrative. No one would want to reveal a plot twist this important.

Accusations Of Internal Issues Resolved
While most were worried that due to unresolved internal issues, the leak became public, that is definitely not the case. The plotline can still have a change in its own way. The supposed leak is just going to hype up the crowd wanting more. For now, it seems the position is a favorable one for both Sony and Naughty Dog. Although we have to consider that during this lockdown phase, major changes are difficult to implement.
