Toni Nadal Calls For Penalty on Nick Kyrgios

The misbehavior displayed by Nick Kyrgios upon losing his service game in the third set on the courts on Rome been cumbersome for him, as he defaulted from his second-round match against Casper Ruud at the Italian Open 2019.

The unsportsmanlike conduct from Nick Kyrgios in the Roman Masters 1000 event was condemned by Toni Nadal, uncle, and ex-coach of Rafael Nadal. “It is bad for tennis and has entered a dynamic that hurts him, something is failing, it is not normal, I have seen the images and his attitude is quite painful”, Toni Nadal conveyed to El Espanol.

Toni Nadal feels the men’s tour has profoundly discussed Nick Kyrgios and his tennis, and they perceive him as a player who plays a good game. Toni mentioned about the Australian’s intellectual side, which has to be taken care off.

“I feel bad for him, but something is failing, the ATP has given him too much hype, he plays very well, but with another mentality, he would aspire to the maximum, he should make an effort to change,” Toni Nadal continued.

Toni furthered mentioned that Nick Kyrgios has to work upon his etiquettes on the court. Sport primarily teaches you discipline, if that dimension goes astray during matches and other occasions, then a person must think before designating himself/herself as a sport professional.

“It’s hard for him to take the pressure and the difficulty of the competition, he does not do any good in the sport, in the end, there is no other option but to put a penalty on him,” Toni Nadal added.

Nick Kyrgios replied to Toni Nadal in a trivial manner. Kyrgios wrote on Twitter, “I’ll try and clean my act up.”

World Number 36, Nick Kyrgios’ delinquency on the tennis court of the Italian Masters has forfeited his 45 ATP ranking points and prize money of €33,636. Additionally, he has been fined €20,000 for his misconduct on the court.
