Stan Wawrinka is the man of the moment now and rightly so as he deserves all the praises and adulation for his achievements even as a late bloomer. The Swiss who was recently crowned the US Open 2016 champion has proved time and again that he is the biggest threat to the Big Four as well as other players in the top 10.

Let us have a look at the top achievements and records of Stan Wawrinka.

The World No.3 has reached three Grand Slam singles finals in his career, winning all three. The first win came at the 2014 Australian Open (6–3, 6–2, 3–6, 6–3), the 2015 French Open ( ‎4–6, 6–4, 6–3, 6–4)  and the 2016 US Open (7–6, 4–6, 5–7, 3–6). Each time he defeated the reigning world number one in the championship match (Rafael Nadal once and Novak Djokovic twice, respectively). He won the 2015 French Open, 10 years after his Grand Slam debut at the 2005 French Open.

He played in the longest doubles match in history at the 2013 Davis Cup partnering with Marco Chiudinelli against the Czech Republic team of Lukas Rosol and Tomas Berdych that ended in the Czech’s favour 6-4 5-7 6-4 6-7 24-22. The match ticked 7 hours and 2 min. The 5th set alone lasted  3 hours and 35 minutes.

At Chennai Open, Wawrinka has the record for 4 men’s singles titles, 3 being consecutive from 2014-2016, 5 finals and 5 semi-finals overall in the span of 2010-2016. He is the only player to achieve the above 4 feat.
