Top and most bizarre buys of IPL 2016 auction

With Vivo smartphone to be this year’s sponsors, the removal of Rajasthan and Chennai and addition of two new fanchises in the form of Gujarat and Pune, the auction couldn’t have been more interesting than in the previous years.

With over 350 players to go under the hammer in this year’s auction, there were many smart buys by the teams such as Gujarat and Hyderabad but we also got to see some bizarre buys today which left everyone surprised.

Delhi, for instance, decided to shell out 8.5 crores for the uncapped Indian all- rounder Pawan Negi, more than what RCB payed for Yuvraj, making him the highest paid Indian in this year’s auction.

Delhi spent most of their money on lesser known talents such as Rishabh Pant, Chris Morris, Karun Nair and Carlos Braithwaite. There were more surprises in store as Pune decided buy a Tamil boy, Murugan Ashwin for a whopping four and a half crores.

Stars such as Mike Hussey, Martin Guptill, Usman Khwaja, Dilshan,George Bailey etc. went unsold which raised some eyebrows.
