Mercedes driver Lewis Hamilton believes that he deserves more credit for his German GP performance. He felt that the commentators did not give him his dues in Hockenheim when he battled from 14th to win.

The 4-time F1 world champion clocked in a stellar drive to work his way into the points after just four laps.

From that point onwards, he scythed his way through the pack until the heavens opened. But that did little to deter him as he mastered the tricky conditions to end up third. Then, Lady Luck smiled on him when the Safety Car was called out to retrieve Sebastian Vettel’s stricken Ferrari.

A great strategy also played into his hands and he snatched the lead when others pitted. Barring a brief challenge from teammate Bottas, Lewis Hamilton remained untroubled for the rest of the race.

However, he felt that his drive wasn’t good enough to silence critics. So, he promptly made his feeling known on Instagram.

He said, “I watched a race that felt so great in my heart on the track, but there were certain things that were not being perceived that way. There was a point where I was three seconds a lap quicker than the other drivers. The difference that I was making in the car and the different lines I was choosing were not explained.”

But, he later deleted the post. He justified himself, saying that it went up in the middle of the race. When the race was reaching it’s conclusion, there were good comments from some of the ex-drivers. He sympathised with them as he knows that they have a tough job to report what is going on in the race.

Now, Hamilton will be bracing himself for the Hungarian Grand Prix. He is aware that the high-downforce circuit isn’t Mercedes’ strongest suit, so things could be tough.
