26 year old Axel Witsel looks set to snub interest from Manchester United and Chelsea to sign for AC Milan.

AC Milan, who were previously set to sign Geoffrey Kondogbia from Monaco before their deal was hijacked by Inter Milan, are now on course to complete a major signing in the form of Axel Witsel, who is set to snub interest from English giants Manchester United and Chelsea.

The Italian club have met Zenit Saint Petersburgh’s valuation of £24 million for the Belgian and the player has agreed personal terms with the club and only the official statement is left to be announced, which is expected to be made as early as tomorrow.

The central midfielder had been immense for the Russian side and was a major part of the title winning season, scoring 4 goals and playing the role of defensive midfielder for a period of time. Not only that, he has also been a key player for the Belgian team who have significantly risen to second rank in FIFA rankings.

With this major signing, fallen Italian giants AC Milan are “restoring the fallen cards” and building an entirely new team, with early indications from the new owners and the manager being all in all positive. The club is in for more quality players and might sign as many as 4-5 more players in the transfer window.
