The Defending T20 World Champions Sri Lanka have started their 2016 World T20 campaign on a winning note after seeing through a gutsy Afghanistan team.
Afghanistan scored 153/7 in their 20 overs, Β Asghar Stanikzai scored 62 off 47 balls and Samiullah Shenwari scored a quick-fire 31 off 14 balls in the later part of the innings. In reply, Sri Lanka lost 2 wickets for 58 runs inside 9 overs, but Tilakaratne Dilshan unbeaten knock of 83 off 56 balls guided Sri Lanka to a rather easy 6 wicket win.

This 17 year old Rashid from Afghanistan is very special. Steve Waugh says he is the best young bowler he's seen in a while. #SLvAFG

Fantastic effort by Afghanistan to make 153 against Sri Lanka. We have a game here, if they can hold their nerve (and catch..)

Afghanistan played so well that soon Sri Lanka will start arresting their fishermen.β Ramesh Srivats (@rameshsrivats) March 17, 2016
Sri Lanka win but Afghanistan had their moments. Fielding was a let-down though. Who is the fielding coach? Not Inzy surely!
