The Mexican Grand Prix has just concluded and man did the race came alive at the closing stages. To be fair Max Verstappen kept the race alive for all the right reasons while chasing Rosberg but then for very wrong reasons in the last couple of laps.
However away from all the drama Hamilton cruised to his first Mexican win after a slow start and a botched Turn 1 and this win brought him his 51st career victory and reduced the gap to 19 points between him and Rosberg.
Lets go @LewisHamilton #MexicoGP…still in with a fighting chance

While his win may have been easy but the fingers are also being raised over the lack of penalty for his turn one excursion on the very first lap and it was none other than Daniel Ricciardo pointing it out.
And he's correct – regarding @LewisHamilton that is. #MexicoGP https://t.co/6ESMIHFcwa

Nico Rosberg did what he need to do and that’s putting himself on P2 after losing on pole yesterday. For the entire race he never looked as strong as he had been at the start of the season and even fell within the clutches of Verstappen however with a little bit of smart thinking he forced Verstappen into an early lunge and as the Red Bull driver locked his tyres and went into the grass, the German finally got the buffer he needed and maintained it.
Hamilton wins, Nico P2, safe and sound. #GoNico
Nico is now +19 points ahead. Don't give up @nico_rosberg man❤️— Nico Rosberg Italy (@NicoRosbergITA) October 30, 2016
So now it’s simple: Nico Rosberg will be crowned world champion if he wins the Brazilian Grand Prix.

But the man who really brought the race alive in the closing stages was Vettel. Running a mega stint on Softs Vettel pitted later to use the newer Mediums to push for positions and he did his job as he caught Verstappen a few laps before the end and forced the 18 year old into an error but Max instead of handing the place back kept going on initiating a Radio rant by Vettel which turned into expletives as no order came from the stewards room while Max started backing the German into his teammate who also caught the two by that time and as Riccardo went to overtake Vettel sternly closed the door banged wheels and the order was intact.
Verstappen made it to the drivers Cool down room when the news of his Penalty came in and he duly left as a jubilant Vettel took the podium spot.

Ricciardo finished 4th but he was not happy at all while also raising some valid questions in his post race interview.

For Verstappen the Race never quite materialised for the potential he showed all weekend. His lunge on Rosberg failed while dropping the ball while being chased by Vettel and then not letting him through earned him the ire of fans and critics alike.

6th place went to Raikkonen who fought the Force India of Hulkenberg for many a laps on fresh tyres before making a move that saw the German spin however Hulkenberg was able to come home in 7th ahead of Williams duo of Bottas and Massa and Perez rounded the final points position in 10 after looking at the rear wing of Bottas first and Massa then for the whole of the race. However Force India still gained a point on Williams and leave Mexico with a 9 point lead in the Constructors Standing over Williams.
Today's result increases our lead over our closest rivals to 9 points. The battle for Fourth continues! #MexicoGP #YoSoyForceIndia

Ericsson once again came close to a points finish but that underdeveloped Sauber does not seem to have got what it takes.
